    £12,994...

Don't let prospective owners talk down prices, certainly existing owners shouldn't be encouraging them  Of course they're only worth what someone will pay but the FRP has so much going for it, great looks, fabulous handling, a zingy willing motor and hand finished in very limited...

How to: LSD installation (inc Gearbox removal and refit)

That's what I thought. Bum  I still can't see the part in situ in the pics, but everything except the diff has to come out to get to it right? It'd get a replacement g'box except FRP ones are few and far between. I might have to live with the wobbly knob for a bit longer while I decide...

How to: LSD installation (inc Gearbox removal and refit)

Excellent article, thank you for taking the time to document and post it  I'm suffering from the wobbly gearstick problem, it doesn't spring to the centre (3rd/4th) plain, and from what I've read it's likely to be the "bias spring" on the selector mechanism inside the gearbox. Despite...

418 is of to get the new engine

Hi Paul, did you buy the 2x F3 engines from Swindon Engines on ebay a few months ago? If so you got a bargain there 8-) I was thinking of bidding but didn't really have anywhere to store them. I might have gone for one of them if they were separate lots. Cheers Mark

    FRP Mudflaps

There are pics of my car with mudflaps fitted in the last page of this thread... http://www.projectpuma.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=6358&start=175" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; They are Cannon ones up front and plain ones on the rear. Cheers Mark

    Performance oils

No way just a change of oil would do that! Underfilling will give you a few more hp (less oil splash and windage), until the engine goes bang through lack of lube  Castrol Edge is my oil of choice at the moment, superb stuff 8-) Cheers Mark

    FRP power

Kind of. ALL manufacturer quoted power/torque figures are "at the flywheel" but they're actual figures rather than calculated ones. The manufacturers use an engine dynomometer, where they connect the engine minus the gearbox and indeed entire rest of the car, to directly measure the output of...

    023 ready to go nearly

Cool, I must come and see you sometime and a) get a refill and b) see your FRP's :) Can you do fast pressure refills or just slow gravity ones? Ohh and where are you based? Cheers Mark

FRP on the Bay.... With FRP tax

Only the GTA's had alloy panels. They were the Lotus Cortina's nemesis back in the day :) Hmmm, Lotus Cortina's (alloy panels and peaky engine) are worth a pretty penny now as well. Of course both the Lotus Cortina and GTA had proper race pedigree 8-) Cheers Mark

    023 ready to go nearly

It does sound like at least one injector is stuck open or at least is leaking fuel in the closed position. What Nitrous systems do you fit? Highpower Systems International a.k.a Wizards of NOS are the best IMHO 8-) Cheers Mark

FRP on the Bay.... With FRP tax

Not that long ago nobody wanted RS Cosworth's, now they do :) If Mk3 Escort RS1600i's are fetching £15K (which they are) it won't be long before FRP's are more than that 8-) All old Fast Ford's have their day eventually  Cheers Mark

    023 ready to go nearly

Nitrous shouldn't do either of those things. It doesn't use the injectors, it has it's own extra fuel injector/s, and the gas itself should actually cool the pre-combustion mixture. Still could be burnt valves but not necessarily due to the Nitrous. A compression check will tell you if any...

30mm Spacers - Anyone else interested

They were white when I got the car (last year) which I thought looked terrible! I debated OEM silver or anthracite and came down on the latter as I prefer them on cars that have no other brightwork or silver highlights on them like the FRP. I got the bolts (10.9 grade, 70mm) from a tools and...
