thinks thats being ruined by some guy who won them originally and then got done out of it

that frp is very pricey indeed, especially as the wheels arent even originals

I'm not sure where everyone is getting FRP Tax from....

Yes it has a few niggles but with a few 1000 you can have yourself a really nice example.

The more people who list them with a bigger price tag the better IMO.

The number of the being sold with similar pricetags and not selling them might suggest others disagree, and with over 100k miles... i reckon for me to potentially invest...5.5k is overpriced... IMO.

not many people wanted them new, not many people want them now sadly...only us dudes who know how much fun they are know the real value...

Not that long ago nobody wanted RS Cosworth's, now they do :) If Mk3 Escort RS1600i's are fetching £15K (which they are) it won't be long before FRP's are more than that

All old Fast Ford's have their day eventually

Cheers

I personally think they'll be on the up fairly soon.

I also don't mind high prices, and that comes from someone who might buy one at some point - it does encourage people to keep them as cars and not take them apart.

my son has a nissan 300 twin turbo with uprated boost, runs about 400 bhp, whilst he can fly past me on the straight, he still whoops and hollors as I go flying around the bends...they are truly excellent cars, real fun...but I just dont see them becoming really expensive cars for quite a few years yet...I think more will be broken by those after a quick buck, and then our cars will get more rare indeed so making them more desirable...but who knows the value of cars is a strnage beast at the best of times..

Too many fucked about with now. Soon as you deviate from standard then the value drops to £2.50 and becomes worthless from a future investment point of view and that's why they sit on Ebay for months without any interest.

Problem is with the cheap 'uns that they'll likely need the purchase price paying again just to get them up to scratch. Neglected calipers for instance are usually only fit for the bin.

True... but as with 401... Fantastic finished product and although Jay was in a hurry, you could do it over time and certainly for me would give me much enjoyment.

people please.....you dont / cant buy any ford for an 'investment'....maybe an old / rare / interesting one can be 'depreciation proof' but a ford will never MAKE you money because itl aways need more maintenance than rising value

even someone running an rs200 twice a year at shows will spend more on a service than the value of the car goes up in one year.

in short the frp is 12 years old, its at rock bottom, when its 15+ and theres hardly any around the value and interest will rise, people will fix them, values will rise more.....but NO ONE is going to get a bargain, fix nothing, and sell for a profit....

its just a fact; its always cheaper to buy a good one than fix a rotten one; read a classic car mag, those guys have been doing it for decades.

itl be 30 odd years before they sell for any real money....ie like a 1965 alfa giulia 'project' for £20k+. i compare the frp to the giulia because it was a motorsport tweeked car, had ali panels, a tweeky engine, they raced/rallied them etc

Only the GTA's had alloy panels. They were the Lotus Cortina's nemesis back in the day :)

Hmmm, Lotus Cortina's (alloy panels and peaky engine) are worth a pretty penny now as well. Of course both the Lotus Cortina and GTA had proper race pedigree
