Don't overlook the crankcase ventilation system. A lot of oil can get eaten through that if its not right.

RHD is an eye-catcher at car shows. Someone who doesn't know what this car is could easily walk past without taking a second look, just assuming its an escort sport or something like that until they see the steering wheel on the wrong side, then they stop and pay attention.

Don't worry about that. Cars from this era are amazing learners cars. They're modern enough to be great cars but still primitive enough that you can actually work on them without being a programming engineer.

Most likely they are made of polycarbonate and the right answer would be a polycarbonate cement. There are a couple other plastics it might be (Primarily acrylic) so find a way to test the cement before committing to it.
