    Remote/Alarm Problems

Hi, having problems with my 2000 W reg 1.7 Puma :( Locks have been rusted solid (have tried everything but no luck will need them replaced) since I bought the car so have relied on the radio controlled remote. Batteries on that died few weeks ago, but I was able to get into the car and...

    Locked out! :(

Ok, I'm going to attempt to get into the car through the dodgy window, disable the alarm in case something goes wrong, and recode the remote key and then reinstate the alarm. Reading online there is a fusebox at the steering column, says alarm is fuse 15a in slot f8 (bottom, fourth from right)...

    Locked out! :(

Thanks. I think I could force my passenger window down (motor etc is broken and slides easily!) and climb inside through the window. My plan of attack would be (without unlocking the car from inside) to re-code the key in the barrel, then use that key to unlock the car, and voilla, problem...

    Locked out! :(

Thanks. Any idea if I can reprogramme the remote when the alarm's still set, as the instructions seem to say that I just need to flick between position 1 and position 2? Think it's looking more and more like a Ford dealer or auto electrician. :(

    Locked out! :(

Hi, tried changing the battery but can't get the remote to work still. Everything seems ok inside the remote as far as I can tell. Reading the forums here this morning I'd read this might happen. I'm going to give a shot of getting the window down and using the key to start the ignition -...

    Locked out! :(

1999 Puma 1.7 - the (3 button, radio) beeper battery has been struggling a bit at times lately but stopped responding completely this morning (I know, should've replaced it earlier!). I have two other regular keys cut and coded for the car, but unfortunately all the locks are completely seized...

Electric Window going down but not up

Topmansparkie, Thankyou very much! Bit short of time at the moment but I'll give it a shot next week let you know how I get on. Again, I can't thank you enough! Stuart

Electric Window going down but not up

Hi, Wonder if anyone can advise?? After my passenger door got slammed a little too hard (eek!), the electric window stopped working. Well, it goes down ok, and I can hear the motor turn briefly (1/2 second or so) when I try and put the window up, but I get no movement at all and the motor...

    New keys

Hi, I've a W Reg Puma, bought about a year and a half ago. I'm going to need a second set of keys - when I bought it the car only came with one remote (the three button type). I'm a bit unclear as to how easy this is - I gather if I had another key already (or the red master key) that I'd be...

Will Fiesta tyres fit my Puma??

Cheers mate. The only other thing I need done now is OSF brake pipe and OS wheel cyclinder... Any idea how much that'll set me back?? I'll have my Puma good as new soon enough! :)

Will Fiesta tyres fit my Puma??

Thanks for that mate. They are brand new never been used tyres, maybe he can punt them on gumtree to another fiesta owner! Stuart

Another Newbie from Scotland with questions :)

Just to say thanks to all who helped - I ended up getting the cambelt, auxiliary belt, rocker gasket, water pump and also the alternator pulley replaced (it was falling apart!). Total cost was £432.
