    2001 1.7 with sunroof 74k

Ford Puma 1.7 in Red on a W Plate. It's a really rare model with a factory fitted sunroof, it's only one of four known to have this option still on the road. I bought it on 53,000 miles and have done 20k and loved every minute but I feel like a change. I have spent at least £1k on this car since...

    The lesser spotted Puma Sunroof

Funnily enough I've just done an MOT check on it and it was at 60-ish k back in January. I'm putting a few ads out on the local Facebook buy and sell groups, see if someone knows who it is. To be honest it was in a bit of a state (arches front and back were shagged) alloys were a mess, so I...

    The lesser spotted Puma Sunroof

Can't imagine that'd be too difficult/expensive to have done if you were really keen. I know one of the other sunroof'd Puma's is a transplant from a KA. Back in the day it was a common thing to do, taking an angle grinder to the roof of an old escort etc, there'll be some old skool mechanics...

    Timmy's Puma

Thanks guys. It's been hard work keeping her together and there's always something going wrong each month but it's worth it just for those few days where everything is spot on. Just looking forward to some better weather so I can really get stuck into some remaining odds and ends.

    Hesitation mid range whilst cruising

TPS caused this issue for me. A lot of the garages I went to found no fault codes but kept pointing to the fuel pump. Switched the TPS with a cheap one from Euro, reset the ECU (essential otherwise the revs get stuck at 2k) and it was as good as new. Grabbed a new one from Ford, happy days.

    Timmy's Puma

So it's nearly been 2 years since I last posted here. The Puma has been through a lot. All (and I mean all, every bush, every top mount and shock) of the suspension has been replaced and the engine has had the usual work done...timing belts etc. I also fitted a Connect2 to the 6000CD and sorted...

    Your Puma???

    1. 1 year and 8 months. 2. Daily driver. 3. Hoffman race tube and back box. 4. 73k (done 17,000 since I bought it  ) 5. New springs, shocks, wishbones, front and rear bushes, top mounts, sparks, coil pack, timing belt, TPS, filters, all four wheel bearings, ARB bushes, brakes. 6. Will...

    The lesser spotted Puma Sunroof

I parked up next to this Millie the other day which also sported a sunroof. Looked like an aftermarket to me as it doesn't match the brochure like mine does, but then no two sunroofs seem to be the same whenever I see them. Anyone know who this belongs to? Was parked in B&Q in Yeovil.

    New TPS won't drop revs.

Hi all, My 1.7 has been struggling with a delayed accelerate, random stalls and hesitation for about a year. In that time it's had new leads, ignition coil, sparks, air filter, fuel filter, fuel pump, lambda sensors, injectors, the MAF has been cleaned as has the ICV. You name it, it's had it...

    Timmy's Puma

Well this morning I took it to a mates garage to get it up in the air to investigate the knocking. The drop links were totally shagged and the arb bushes while looking fairly new were showing a little give. Having managed to track down some bushes from Ford who delivered them a fair way for me...

    Timmy's Puma

All I know is that it was owned by an elderly couple and they part ex/d it in for a new car. Between the MOT I've just had put on it (which it passed without fault) and the last one (July 2013) it had only done a thousand miles which suggests it's been very well looked after and quite probably...

    Timmy's Puma

I made a post in the newbies thread the other day but felt it was time to start a project thread seeing as I will be doing some bit and pieces to my car as time goes on. Spec: 2000 series 1.5/2 1.7 55k miles. I am the second owner. Completely standard. Factory/dealer fitted sunroof 6000CD...

New Puma owner...need a little info

My first stop was going to be the drop links. They were causing the same sound on my Pug GTi.

New Puma owner...need a little info

I paid £875 in the end but had to tax it so it's swings and roundabouts really. Prices seem to vary widely on these with no real rhyme or reason.

    The lesser spotted Puma Sunroof

Mine looks totally different to that! My catch is the rectangular lever style and I'm fairly certain it's flush on the inside...as in there's no additional roof lining around it. Looks just like a hole in the roof but can't remember from memory. Will check it out tomorrow.

    The lesser spotted Puma Sunroof

Actually I tell a lie, there's bugger all in the manual about it...but I read something somewhere... I can take some pics of the car with the sunroof open and what it looks like and how it works if you guys are interested in knowing that kind of stuff. It's actually quite a nice edition to...

    The lesser spotted Puma Sunroof

Just bought this: Had no idea the sunroof was rare. It's a tilt and is removable. The owners handbook gives details on how to open and take it out so I assume it was a standard thing on these. To be fair I didn't know much about Puma's nor had I given one a second look until I bought one. I...
