How to Kill the small rear arch Blisters

I'm afraid the rust is coming through from the back - if you were to take off the internal trims to allow access to the inside of your rear arches you'd be quite surprised :-( Somehow it seems moisture gets into this area (there is a hole behind the fabric wheel arch liner) & sits there causing...

    CD5000 Radio can't pick up a signal

Not sure if this is 'Urgent' enough for this section - but as i've got a potential buyer for my car coming to veiw it on Sunday, its kinda urgent :? Anyway, soon after I brought my car I removed the original CD5000 Cassette player & replaced it with an Alpine CD player - now i'm selling the...

Silver Puma in Hinckley 20-11 - driver waved :-)

Ha ha - cool! 8-) I'm actually not from Hinckley - was going up to the collage where we race our R/C cars [where's the 'geek' smiley!] I'm from Wellingborough (northants).... for my sins - theres loads of Pumas around but I think this is the first time i've ever been waved at :ok: Steel...

Silver Puma in Hinckley 20-11 - driver waved :-)

I was reading through a thread the other day about waving at other Puma drivers - & I thought that it was a rather odd thing to do, being that there are so many Pumas around many of which are not 'enthusiasts' as such & may not appreciate being waved to? As such its not something i've ever...

    World Rally GB Disaster.....

Thats a real shame as it looks like it was a really smart looking Puma :-( - good luck with the re-build, it doesn't look like it would need too much to get it looking good again  On the plus side - it kinda looks cool & 'rallyish' with the mud & damage - like you was taking part...

    Grinding Steering

Ha ha - mine has done this in the past, my VW has done the same thing too - so its not just a 'Ford thing' Nothing a quick clean & re-grease can't fix

    Rust. That thing you do?

With regard to the rear arches - I used to think that it was the wheel arch liners that was causing the rust by holding grit/gravel & water against the inside, but on removing the liner from one side it was apparent that the actual inside of the lip was rust free - so it seems its purely caused...

I'm old.... so insurance isn't much more than what I pay for the Puma  @ Badger - yes the MX5 is a great drive, this one is a 1.8 Mk3 - which is a little gutless to be honest, especially low down in the rev-range - the 2 litre version is apparantly more sprightly but neither handle...

    Buying an FRP??

Just out of interest - you mention the Alcon brakes, but what other FRP specific parts are likely to need maintenance? Are the wishbones/bushes/roll bars etc different? It always makes me wonder also what the bodywork is like under those wide arches, I don't know how the detail works with how...

The Mini is my Sister's - they live just around the corner & their allocated parking is opposite my house - its a 1.3 Sprite with about 30K odd miles on the clock, it goes really well - original FWD fun! The blue MX5 that pops into view is my other halfs 8-)

@ Zara, I should imagine the FRP (like the Integra) suits more open, fast & flowing roads - & I bet with an extra 20 or so BHP would be an awsome track day car..... thats when I car like the FRP comes into its own I guess. Anyway - heres a pic I found of my Puma, really showing up the diamond...

Thanks for the comments guys 8-) It would be interesting to know where my old Integra is now - although like Pumas there are alot of tired/rusty ones out there now (the rear wheel arch/3 quarter panels rust from the inside) I'd hate to find that my old car is one of those or has been wrapped...

Thanks for the comments... unfortunately the Puma isn't looking quite so fresh now - those pictures were taken about two years ago, last winter really took its toll & the rear arches have started to get the usual rust  The reason for the impending sale of this car is because i'm getting...

Hi guys, it rather ironic that i've just found this site when it looks like i'm going to have to sell my Puma in the near future  Anyway, about me & my Puma.... I first brought my 2001 1.7 Puma almost four years now, I was just about to get myself on the housing ladder, I sold my Honda...
