    1997 1.7 Moondust on Prop's. £495.

Due to a change in circumstances I'm selling my beloved Puma. It's a 1997 1.7 and as you can see it's Moondust Silver on Prop's (still the best combo' in my honest opinion). It's done 98K and has been well looked after throughout it's life with a nice fat folder of receipts. It's pretty much...

    ABS Wiring Loom

Bit of a strange one this. Not sure if I need parts or if it's fixable. Our exhaust fell off yesterday and when the RAC put it back on he noticed that where the exhaust had dropped prior to falling off completely, it's melted the wiring loom for the rear ABS (that explains the ABS warning light...

    ABS Rear Wiring Loom?

Bit of a strange one this. Not sure if I need parts or if it's fixable. Our exhaust fell off yesterday and when the RAC put it back on he noticed that where the exhaust had dropped prior to falling off completely, it's melted the wiring loom for the rear ABS (that explains the ABS warning light...

Just Putting the Feelers Out (So to Speak!)

Due to a change in circumstances I'm looking at possibly selling my beloved Puma ( :-( ). I need to decide if it's worthwhile though as I really don't want to part company with it. It's a 1997 1.7 and as you can see it's Moondust Silver on Prop's (still the best combo' in my honest opinion)...

ABS & Traction Control lights on.

Sorry if this has already been discussed elsewhere but I couldn't find it. Also, not sure if it's electrical or mechanical so posting it here! After 15k miles of trouble free motoring my ABS and traction control lights have come on and won't go off. Any ideas?

Straight Through the MOT *with HID*

My little '97 just continues to amaze me! My bargain £600 Puma has just gone straight through it's first MOT with me (and yes, it has got after-market HID's). Just needed the handbrake tightening. That's nearly 15k I've done now in the last 8 months with no problems and it's still bombing me 80...

    Oil Usage

I've had my car for 6 months now and done 11k in that time. The car had an oil change the week before I brought it and has only needed a half litre top up in that time (amazing for a 14 year old, 90k, relatively hard driven engine). I've checked it this morning and I can't believe it's still...

Converting HID lights back to normal bulbs.

Looks like I'm going to have to go down this route for next years MOT legislations. Has anyone done this? Is it an easy job and would I need parts? I'm no auto-electrician but I used to repair servers, PC's and laptops for a living so I know my way around wiring and electrical stuff. I'm...

    Still Going Strong!

Brought my first Puma back in May at the tender age of 38; http://www.projectpuma.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=12546 Has taken a hammering since then! Now done 92k (I've added 11k already!). It takes me to and from work every day (80 mile commute up and down the M3) and it still hasn't missed a...

    Dash Removal

I'm trying to remove the dash (clocks only) to sort out a loose connection and having followed the instructions on one of the threads on here I'm having issues. It's a '97 so it has a mechanical speedo cable and this is preventing me from removing the dash unit. How do I go about disconnecting it?

    Erratic Dashboard Behaviour?

My dashboard is intermittantly dying on me and I'm wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem. For no reason what-so-ever the rev counter drops to zero and the temp and fuel gauges stick where they are. The speedo carries on working fine though. A firm bang on the top of the dash gets...

What should I do about my cambelt?

I started an interesting argument amongst my mates whilst playing poker on Friday night and I wanted to see what other people think on here. I brought a '98 1.7 Puma a couple of months ago for the princely sum of £630. It's very tidy (no rust on arches), has lots of receipts and history and...

    Ford Specialists - Southampton Area

I notice a couple of people on here are from the Hampshire area. Does anyone have any solid recommendations for getting my cambelt done? I've been chatting with these guys on email and they seem very genuine. They've quoted me £360 which includes fitting a full kit (tensioner, bolts etc) and...

    Electric Seat

The electric height adjuster on my 1.7 does not appear to be functioning. Something's happening as it makes a clunk but doesn't move either way. Is this a terminal issue or is there a 'forum fix' for this one? :?:

    HID Headlights?

I have only just noticed this morning that my '98 1.7 appears to have HID's. It's the first time I've driven with the lights on really and I only noticed it as I was sat behind another car when I turned them on. I noticed how they switched on (the tell tale flicker and warm up) and what colour...

    Front Moondust Bumper

Paint not in brilliant condition. Moondust is its original colour and it matches my original paintwork perfectly but there is some flaking in places. Also the usual paint chips and a few scuffs. It's all there though including grill and skirt. I brought this as mine was looking a bit tired but...

    Mod's on new Puma 1.7.

I have just brought myself a '98 1.7 which has a couple of slight mod's. It has an MSD Blaster coil pack (with performance leads and plugs) and a K & N 57i and I was wondering what kind of an improvement in performance these were offering (in any?). Both were professionally fitted by a garage...

    Pleasantly Surprised!

I needed a cheap car to do a commute for a new contract I'm on and having heard good things about the Puma I thought I'd give it a try. Needed something economical but as always, I wanted something that was going to put a bit of a grin on my face too. I'm a 38 year old male and have owned...
