Bit noisy in neutral until clutch pedal pressed

I am getting a rattly noise in neutral until I push the clutch in, what could that indicate regarding a future failure?

thats normal on the Puma mate, I used to be worried about the same in my old car but they all do it lol

that`s good to know - mine does it a little bit, i though it was the clutch release bearing on the way out :thumbs:

i have changed the release bearing but the sound is saved ...

I have replaced everything clutch related and still have the noise so dont worry, they all do it :wink:

noisy gearbox input shaft bearing, it is a trait of the ib5 but if its very bad its probably on its way out

if the noise is more of a clatter then a whir though, what you are experiencing is gear backlash, where the gears are hitting together as they change direction with the rotation from the engine
