last week an exhaust heat shield did its best to fall off.....rotten

so i ripped it off and thought id sort ot over half term.....

so i went to ford to buy a new one....but thought 'sod it' its a pig of a job, im gonna get dirty so il do all of them....£116 later!!!!

now i started taking them off & thought 'i really should wax oil the whole underside seeing as its bare'.....so i did that......

as i was doing that & car was jacked up i thought 'rear brakes need looking at'....so i did, which led to new pads.....and a mini strip & service....so i did that

while the wheels were off i thought 'iv wax oiled the front arches, may as well do the backs whilst the wheels were off.....so i did that

iv got hold of some frp rear spats too so while the rear wheels were off i did that....

while the exhaust was off i put on a new rear hanger.....

its been a long day!

gonna rain 2mrw so having a day off but thurs will be;

rear abs wiring gone
adjust handbrake (anyone know how?!!!)
frp inlet brackets going back on
door window frame & seal (thatl be fun!!!!)
new engine mount

chuffed at how clean the bottom of my car is now, you could eat of it!

Just ordered a rear ABS loom from ECP for £65 posted. ATE part, so should be OE quality. Just look for the one for a late model Escort estate (I hope). Compare to Ford, who want £105+VAT trade.

Have you smartened up your dirt shields, behind the discs? I just bought a setup and the shields were really tatty. Apparently you can't get Mk1 Focus shields any more, but I reckon Fiesta ST items should be the same.

Just suggesting something else for you to replace!

nah; ripping the abs loom 'off'! (tried to kill me in the snow). havent had abs for over a year, driven through snowy alps, 40 miles a day when its snowed blizzards.....been fine. dont recommend anyone else takes it off unless theyv had advanced off road driver training tho....

splash guards....yep. need to get a pair off, cleaned up & some carbon fibre versions made at some point.....!

Is that the standard puma abs or the frp mate? i was quoted 121 quid from pumabuild

That is for the FRP one.

I am fitting FRP rear discs to my Puma so needed an FRP rear ABS loom, £105+VAT from Ford, £65 posted from ECP.

IIRC the FRP uses the same rear loom as the later Escort Estate. I will be able to confirm this next week.

The ECP part arrived this morning, hopefully I will get it fitted next week, and can confirm then, but I am sure that a number of people on PPl have had to replace their rear sensors and confirmed that the FINIS for a late Escort estate is the right one.

Hope this helps.
