After my beloved black ZS got written off by an 87 year old women driving into it i was left with no car but an insurance payout that was worth more than i paid in the first place for my fiesta, Result!
I wanted something different than a fiesta but as i had removed all of my mods from my ZS i wanted something to apply these to, hense the 1.7 VCT puma.
The car required a few bits and bobs to make it a sound example such as plastic interior caps and a good clean which i went about with a clay bar, SRP and finished with collonite 916.
I picked up a reasonable example for £1850 which left me ample money to buy some serious mods with, first of which was a set of AP coilovers which soon came and new insulators. This cured alot of rattles coming from the rear and gave the puma the slammed look. I also put on the Janspeed backbox from my fiesta.

As you can see the car was fairly dirty but you get the idea of the AP's, i lowered the car around -75mm front and rear.
The next mod was set of escort cosworth alloys which i picked up with a good set of eagle F1s which are awsome and it really transformed the look of the car.

Great thing is its -75mm with those wheels and absoloutly no catching or rubbing anywhere.

Hi, welcome to the site! Your car looks good.. but how well does it drive lowered by that much?

Not too bad at all sharp handling, really flat through the corners and great road holding. I only potter around though so aren't that bothered unless i went on track.

Then I fitted the rest of the exhaust, so protech 421 heatwrapped fanimold with full janspeed cat back

Then I moved on to some under bonnet detailing including anthracite coloured inlet and throttle body with imp blue bolts.

Whilst the throttle body was off i indulged in some porting and polishing including knife edging the butterfly and using countersunk s/s screws. Shiny.

And finally an sfs blue hose with painted maf sensor and air flow blingy plate thing

Incorporated the now common 300mm brake conversion.

Much better braking.

I then put my hand to installing some gauges, sooo

And not using these gauges but it gives you an idea.

Not finished yet but will get some pics up when sprayed and gauges installed, thinking of oil temp and vacuum or something we'll have to see.

Just a few other bits ive done, painted the engine cover with red S

Blue strut brace with polished header tank and painted the covers/caps anthracite also.

Now focusing on interior and audio, ive got some edge components fitted atm but just purchased some rainbow slx comps so will be fitting them with a few other mods.

Comments and Criticisms welcome.

Yea i used the cardboard template to support a few layers of fibre glass and once dry skimmed it with bodyfiller, once set get sanding into the right shape and used a 2" hole cutter for the holes. Then spray paint and wire up gauges, its quite easy to do but time consuming, especially if you want the gauge faces to sit inline and flush to the dash.
