Broken tab headlight regulator

Hi.

Does anyone know if the headlight regulator will still work fine with one of the tabs broken?

The tab is this one:

I used Araldite to try and fix but it didn't work. Someone told me to try plastic weld it but I need a plan B in case I bollox up the welding.

Ok. I'll answer my own question, as this could come handy for someone who needs to do a repair of this sort. If this happens to any of you, you should never use glue. You plastic weld instead, it's the only way. I used a soldering iron to melt bits of the plastic together. Then I cut some stainless-steel mesh and placed it over the 2 sections. I applied heat with the iron until the plastic embedded the mesh. I then cut a bit of ABS plastic I had lying around and melted it over the crack for reinforcement. Worked like a charm. It's harder than it was originally.

No, I used a cheapo and only needed to clean it once.
