Cam belt replacement tutorial?

I suspect most peoples diagnosis of tooth jumping is actually just Timing 'slipage' which, when everything is held together on the bottom bolt is a common mistake

I think getting the ribs of the belt to actually go over the cam wheel would be difficult to achieve unless there was a major failure... and even then you'd have to probably have marked the belt and cam wheels to be sure of it..
 
I didn't have any problem checking it with the engine in. I guess I had to stick my head somewhere at an awkward angle but could definitely do it OK. Alternative would be to take a photo with your phone.

It's good that Gates did the technical bulletin, though, as I was struggling to get my head around the Ford ETIS guide which does have some mistakes on it such as the torx sizes for the cam sprocket bolts and saying take off the aux belt before removing the water pump pulley.
