Clutch hydraulic line circlip

Hi, Is there some trick to getting the circlip in that attaches the clutch line to the gearbox. It is in an awkward place, and just seems not to want to go in! Do you put the line in first and then the clip, or vice-versa?

just make sure the pipe is all the way in before trying to clip it..

the clips rides over the top of the two cut outs...

I fell for this when doing my fiesta, the pipe wasn't quite in right and I squirted b.fluid all over the place when trying to bleed it.. it is a fiddly place to see fully..
