Confused by steering pipe nut

Hi all,

I am only an amateur but I don't understand this.

My power steering hose has gone so I am looking to buy a new one. Official-ford-store sell them on Ebay but without the 18 mm nuts to fit them. Even if they did sell them how do you get the nut over the flared end of the pipe?

I am confused.

I haven't done it but ->this<- recent thread suggests it should be quite easy.
