Doors Locked

All the doors and the boot are locked so we can't get into our Millennium Puma. The fob buttons have no effect, no sound, no lights, nothing.
I've replaced the battery in the fob.
Tried opening using a manual key, including the spare.
I've tried WD40 in the locks, as I've seen that mentioned as a solution.
None of these things work.

Any ideas gratefully received.

Will the AA be able to get us in? We're members and I don't remember having to call them ever!
Do I need a car lock specialist or would our local garage (he's looked after it for the last 22years!) be able to sort it for us?

Has it been stood, could the battery be flat?
Was it deadlocked?

If it were me I'd be trying my recovery service as a first step, worst they can say is they can't do it.

Thanks. As you said it was a battery problem. The locks were seized. I saw on the forum WD40 and patience had worked for others so I persevered. I injected all sorts of lubricant in all the locks and eventually ……….,,,.,I got in. The battery was completely dead. I’ve never seen Zero Volts before. It wouldn’t even take charge. Anyway all sorted now. Lesson learned, use the key every so often and lubricate the locks from time to time. Any suggestions for the best lock lubricant?

Hi Red, thank you so much for your reply, yes unfortunately she had been standing for quite some time, due to my job and weird hours. I have contacted a car locksmith company and they are unwilling to 'break in' for me. Battery dead, so obviously not going to get any joy there.

I few more details of what worked for me. I did use almost a full can of WD 40. I was concerned about breaking the key in the lock so I applied pressure but didn’t snatch the movement, if that makes sense. I turned the key both ways, at times I wasn’t sure what the right way was! Keeping the lubricant in was also a concern. I used a thin piece of foam (an old gasket from something I had in the garage). I pushed the straw nozzle through it and then pressed the foam against the key hold on the door handle. I used so much WD 40 that at the end it was dripping on the drive from the bottom of the car door! I also had some rubbing alcohol. I have used this as a freeing agent in the past. Using a syringe, a piece of tube and a needle adapter for a football I injected that into the lock. Final ingredient, Waxoil. I had a tiny bit left from years ago, I just love it for all sorts of things. I did this on every lock repeatedly. They were all solid at the start. The passenger door was the first to free, I was on the point of giving up! It was a gradual easing img, it didn’t just pop open. The boot followed soon after. The passenger door beat me but it didn’t matter, I was in. New battery was needed in my case. Don’t give up, you will open it.

I vaguely remember putting power to the starter motor on a car in the past using a booster pack which resulted in getting enough power to the battery to open the doors thus letting me open the bonnet to replace the battery.
This is a vague memory as I say & I'm not even sure it was for the Puma but it was the first thing that came to mind as I'm "fairly" sure it was.

Just a thought/possibility? if the wd40 doesn't bring any results k:

Also, don't forget to try the hatch lock too, then you can look silly climbing into your car from the back

If you deadlocked it then a key wouldn't open it anyway if it's anything like my old omega.

When the battery went flat on that I got power to it by putting a battery booster onto the battery from underneath the car so that I could use the remote. Saved smashing a window to open the bonnet. I've been told on a previous thread that this is a no go on the Puma because of the awkward location of the battery but that putting the leads off said booster to the starter motor should give the same result.

Trust me, my neighbours have already seen me do that, not much I do surprises them anymore . I will look into the batery thing, or maybe pass it on to someone who knows what they're doing. Appreciate the advice, I'll try just about anything, short of breaking something.
