Fitting clutch - need help

Hi folks!

Quick question: I have to refit the clutch assembly to the engine after getting engine and gearbox out of the car (1.7). How can I check which side of the clutch has to face the flywheel? There are no markings on the clutch itself, and both sides seem to be the same.

Advice will be appreciated!

I stumbled on this problem a few years back when I changed my clutch, from memory the plate sits a little proud ie not flush when fitted, it’s not the best advice I know, I fitted it wrong and had to remove and turn the plate, what a pain, if you have a new slave cylinder make sure you use it, Sod’s law if you don’t
