Hi, I've just removed the plastic covers from the damper weights on the front suspension and there is a rubber insulator that sits below this.I would assume this insulator should be clamped down tight to the turret on the body by the central nut on the main damper. However on mine there is a gap between the rubber and the top of the turret of about 5mm on each side is this correct?
I am wondering if the insulator on the inside of the turret that sits on the top of the spring housing is worn and has created this gap.
I have to say the car handles very well with no evidence of a problem and no clonking or banging noises, it just seems strange that there is a gap in an area where it looks like it should be clamped tight.
