Ah, then it isn't a "Black". The "Black" was a special edition, which preceeded the Thunder, and has full leather, power mirrors, Quickclear, and F1 style wheels.

To Sean, the OP, if you don't have the wiring behind the A-pillars, then best bet is to visit a scrappers, find a Puma / Fiesta 95-02 with a heated screen and get as much of it as you can. Ideally the relay, switch, etc. and as much wiring that plugs into them as possible. Then you will need the wiring diagram.

i have a black special edition with manual mirrors and no heated windscreen?

are they supposed to have those 2 options? i have the full leather and the f1 alloys.

A bit off topic from the original thread, so I've separated it into it's own.

The details on the special editions can be found here: http://www.projectpuma.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=64" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

However, it doesn't mention the windscreen and door mirrors. As far as I know, all special editions came with the Quikclear screen and electric mirrors. I could be wrong, or it could be that someone has replaced the interior and wheels on your car for those from a Black.

What info does it give on your V5 for the model? It should say 'Puma Black'.

But to play Devil's Advocate - sort of - I wouldn't trust the DVLA to get things right given the lazy collection of in-bred muppets they seem to specialise in employing. One of the most inept Government bureaucracies we have....

I know, but it's usually a fairly good place to start. Even though they can't spell Millennium correctly on mine, and I've heard of more than a few Thunders that have been incorrectly labelled on the V5.

A colleague just bought a 6m old Merc CLS350CDi, V5 says C240. Not uncommon according to Merc Direct who sold it.

FRP was a standard Puma though, which was modified by Tickford, 'Black', like Thunder and Millenium were regular series production models.

You don't have to work at Ford to find the right info, you just need to know where to look. ;)

Or put your car's registration through Ford Etis - that should know. ProjectPuma Members login info here:
