Help!! - cant remove the wheel nuts!!

Ok, so either by coincidence or by crook i have 2 nails in my front 2 tyres.

One is a slow puncture but the other is flat....decided to get the spare out and replace it with the flat one so i could drive it to a tyre place to get replacements...BUT due to Fords great design of wheel nuts, two of the nuts on the wheel have lost their 'cap' , so it means that when i try to remove them using the wrench, it doesnt grip and just threads.

Anyone got any ideas how on earth i can get the nuts to loosen and remove them to fit the spare??

Ive looked around my wheels and ive got about 6 of these wheel nut caps missing!!! - anyone know of a way of getting them to stay on...or other wheels nuts that i can replace them with?

On my last puma this happened on three wheels with the locking nuts ended up having to get the wheel nuts drilled out at a garage . I tried one of those tools which are supposed to grip the bolt and once it had been deformed but the tool made it worse

you need to use a smaller socket. beneath the cap is still hexagonal but a smaller size.
