Help, name that wire

Hi all.
I am hoping someone can shed some light on a problem for me.
Driving home tonight I feel a wire under my foot when I use the clutch, when I stop I see a fuse block at the end of two wires happily dangling from under the dash between my brake ans clutch pedals.
Looking up underneath I can see nowhere obviously missing a connection, the wire originates from the right of the dash (nearest the door) starts as four wires, and splits into two pairs each with a fuse.
One is located and the other is swinging in the breeze.
I am a total novice as far as electrics, does anyone have a clue what it is and where it should be?

is there anything aftermarket fitted? i would expect all the fuses to be in the fuse box

It sounds like the clutch pedal position sensor. If it is it should be attached to the top of the clutch pedal. It tells the ECU what position the clutch pedal is in I think.

If you do a search you should find a piccie on the site of it in its correct position. :thumbs:
