I was just wondering how most FRP owners drive their cars. I've noticed, especially with #013 over the last few weeks, that the car doesn't seem to like driving sensibly and doing plenty of MPG. Driving it sedately I have time to notice all the little things that piss me off - the rattles, squeaks (especially the exhaust, which seems to rattle a lot unless you really give it the beans, when it gets louder and much nicer :))
However, when you really give it the beans, the car does seem to come alive, the rattles seem to dissappear (until you hit a big bump or pothole - then you know about it), and everything is rosy again. :D

Which brings me onto the poll - how do you drive your FRP?

Option 3 for me :D

I especially like roundabouts... although they are probably the cause of the hum on my left side!

when i had one, i drove it like i stole it, outside 30 limits obviously.

They dont make much sense being driven sensibly all the time. They truley come alive thrashed to the limiter while tackling the twistys. And thats how they were designed to be used. Most of the testing and tweaks by RPJ and his team etc was driven hard and fast.

My current car is more fuel efficient thrashed to death - although thats because i have a WRC engine map so the fuellings only perfect when driven hard. :derr:

Definitley agreed Warren. Mine really doesn't seem to like being driven slowly and carfully. It really comes alive when being revved.

I agree the 1.7 engine was built with the help of yamaha. So its no surprise its revvy and loves to be thrashed!

esp at the mo i am driving like i stole it!!!! so much fun. & with no abs im loving leaving breaking for speedbumps really late (ok it is an abandoned road so its safe....has lots of sets of 4 skidmarks on now!!!!!). & pulling off at junctions is sooooo much fun with both wheels spinning!

im enjoying her at mo....will be back to my slightly calmer self soon

dont you have ABS either Jacko?

ive just lost mine after breaking a sensor and i find it so much better for braking! used to it as i used to drive a KA with no ABS and the brakes were really responsive.

Option 3 for me, cerrtainly do like to drive it harder, as tends to feel like it wants to be driven hard! :)

ditched mine willingly cos the dam piece of sh!t tried to kill me in the snow!!!! nearly crashed on some 'extreme frost' and yet since iv ditched the abs iv driven her thru the alps on roads like skating rinks and 20 miles to work on country lanes when the whole country pretty much shut down for the snow....and i havent crashed! the puma is far safer without abs!

i need to stop looking in this section cos i would love to drive one for a day a dream that will never happen :(

iv even let one of my kids at school take mine round castle combe!!! ok it was the 'under 17 driving club' and there were instructors about (we overtook one in a caterham with me shouting at the lad driving mine; 'rev it all the way u big girl!!!'...we got told off for that)

option 1 for me:d i have a van and daily runner for the other options so the frp is just for the ride :D
