So my ignition is ruined to the point where I can't even get my key into it.

I can't turn my ignition to open the hole at the top to get the screwdriver in to release the barrel and my drill won't reach because of the dash. My only option appears to be unbolting the steering column to give my drill access.
Unless anyone can advise otherwise?

I live rurally so having no car is not an option.

A new ignition barrel is en route but I have to remove the old one first.

Column removal is the two 10mm which face you when the wheel is off, another 13mm I think underneath that assembly and a 10mm on the joint on the column, unplug the ignition loom, then it should come free.

If you need the wheel off, 5.5mm on the back of the airbag, then give it a tug and 15mm on the column.

Remove the transponder ring and free up the wiring for that, and unplug the airbag, then the wheel is free.

Did these just now for you
