Milky fog lights !

My rear fog light lenses are all milky. I had a go at T-Cutting them, but the fogging seems to run deep and the best I got was SHINEY foggy !
I was wondering what would be the best way of tackling this.
Is there a recommended translucent spray paint that will sort it out ?
Maybe applying red window film will do the job, or do I have to go to a breakers yard and get them replaced with better ones ?

I sorted mine with an abrasive rubbing compound then polish

I took mine back with a fine grade glass paper and a lacquer over the top

I used metal polish (autosol) Seemed to do the job well.
