my boot does not open with the key fob

Is it a 3 button keyfob? the internal circuit board may be cracked.

Indeed if it opens the rest of the car fine and it's only the boot release that doesn't work then it sounds to me that the key is faulty.

Or the solenoid has gone in the boot release mechanism.
