I've got an UltraGauge II in my 2001 Puma, and every now and then P0420 will come up, and twice it's gone as far as to engage the Check Engine Light.
Once was when She was driving back home, probably at 140kmph, and once when I was in or around the speed limit. Each time I've heard the 'beep' that the UG sounds on a new trouble code, the engine has been around about 4000rpm, and I suspect this might be part of it.
I put Wynn's injector cleaner in 5 tanks / 1270 miles ago, and cleared the light. The trouble code reappeared a few times after that.
The back box is a bit rusted, or rather the outer shell is, but it passed muster on my last major service and NCT/MOT. Does this mean a new Cat do you reckon?
Back box rusting gives me an excuse to put on something a little sportier, but I hadn't envisaged the cost of of a whole new system.
