I've seen a Tape ECU for sale with FRP map.

I was wondering what I'd have to do to recode it to my car?

Seller says he has the key, but no antenna ring/barrel.
Would it be as simple as swapping the chips around in the keys?

Mine's a '51 plate Thunder if that makes any difference?

Also, is it the Tape that only uses one Lambda?
Would be good as I've got a 4-2-1 Sportex manifold on the way, i.e no cat.

Cheers

Steve

The TAPE is indeed a one lambda jobby (there are earlier with only one lambda but they don't take the FRP map).

If it helps, I've a good condition TAPE ecu complete with the ring and the transcoder sitting here (would need the FRP map applying). Just give me a PM if you want to do a deal.

Hmm... Maybe.

The one I had my eye on has gone now :(

Any idea where I can get the FRP map that doesn't cost a million pounds?

Just adding inn, you dont need the ring, just the key :) i kan guarantee that 100 %

Tape map will cost about £250 retail (on your TAPE)
You can get a similar map on your DIVE for similar money. (I think it`s LMS who offer this, but cant be sure)
But...
If you know a friendly auto electrician or map tuner.
It`s a piece of cake to write a map from one ecu to another. Shouldnt cost three figures.
Though you`ll need to borrow a TAPE with the FRP map on it to clone.

PS. as above posts say, just the ECU and transponder are needed to swap.
