So, I plan on doing my first major thing (well, it's major to me!) this weekend in removing the silencer and changing the oil, filter and fuel filter.

I've found the guide for the oil/fuel filter and change so I'm good there.

The silencer on there is the original one and so my understanding is that you basically hacksaw through the pipe, put the new backbox on and clamp it.

Is there anything else that needs to be done? Any kind of fluid or lubricant that should be applied or perhaps rust treatment?

Would appreciate any advice!

Thanks

Ash

Put some exhaust joining paste on the end of the pipe before you put it together.
Get a good quality clamp. I've seen cheap ones start to bend out of shape when you do them up.

Ahh I thought there must be something that goes one, it'd have to be damn tight to be an air tight seal!

Could you suggest where to get a good clamp from?

Thanks!
