Nice collection but where is the st24?...one of Fords best saloons,(the Jag doesn;t count) loved mine, quiet, comfortable, roomy and quick enough to shave 30 minutes off my 3 hour run to St Andrews!!!

I'm off to have a word with myself as I really like that Escort cabbie!!!

Funny you should mention it, when I bought the Escort GTi I actually went to look at an ST24, when I got there it was a toned down model with multi spoke alloys and no bodykit, I didn't realise there were two types, the other fully bodykit version being the RSA so I came back with the GTi

Which one the XR?

The gold looking two tone one. I remember seeing the blue two tone one with half leather back in the day in a dealer and thinking it was lovley. Mind you, I was driving an AX GT back then!

Ah yes very nice car, it's a very rare Ghia had very low miles on it. Had steel wheels and Ghia trims on it originally as well as spots. E800NFD. The car is just one straight colour which was difficult to see in the pic. I sold it for less then a grand, it was stolen and used in a botched ram raid after that, never to be seen again. The interesting thing about that car was that the code name for Escort was Erika and every panel and plastic part had Erika 86 chalked on it, even though it was an E Reg it was clearly an early car, it's build date was. The white XR is the oldest Mk4 cabriolet on the road by build date, sold it too a friend about five years ago, he still has it.

Cheers
Mark

My ST24 was a saloon version in silver rather than the bulkier looking hatch, no bodykit, just small lip spoiler on the boot and full Miltek exhaust, no one ever saw it coming, then again no one ever caught up with it either!!

Oh right probably the same car then. Always preferred the rarer saloon which is why I had ear marked it but there wasn't a pic and I didn't realise there were two types. The GTi wasn't a fast car by any means but nice car and did not have any hassle with it except a wheel ABS sensor.

Two mins 30secs in is the Escort at Silverstone for the 40th Anniversary parade.
