Lifed seats...... Where to start :grin:

The fia patch with date and homologation number should be sewn onto the seat, if this is not the case the homologation is likely to have been withdrawn by the fia. Yes there is nothing stopping you from replacing it however any good scrutineer would know what to look for. The issue with seats for most is that your average clubman competitor is likely to do maybe 5 events per year, cars are stored indoors and usually well looked after yet after 5 years and less than 3k miles of use they have to be replaced, barmy in my opinion.

And yes, battery will be behind one of the seats as low down as possible. :eek:k:

Have to say that yes they will know what to look for as bulletins are released months and always has something to do with seats in it. I have to keep up to date on this now as I and just starting to be a trainee scrutineer!

yeah mines sewn in, not sure why my memory recalled it as being velcro lol, never really had a close look at it, i think its because its not sewn into the seat as such rather as a patch on top

Hi guys,

Time for another update. Things have been slow recently due to ordering the roll cage in February and only receiving it last week after being given a leadtime of 4-6 weeks, but that's another story entirely.

Anyway, the cage is a Safety Devices 6 point bolt in with cross rear diagonals and harness bars, we also received a free Safety Devices 6 point FIA approved 3" harness and some proper safety devices roll cage padding due to the problems with getting the cage. Before I go on here are a few pictures.

while waiting for the cage to arrive we pottered on with some inexpensive jobs which included polybushing the front and rear and wiring in the FIA kill switch.

The immediate jobs list consists of;

Getting the cage fitted
Purchasing and fitting an ECU
Putting in a rear screen
Saving up for suspension

Hopefully things should start to move more quickly now the saga of the cage is over.
