Planning to do a thermostat change this weekend on the wife's car, it's a 1.7, but can't for the life of me find the thermostat housing!! Am I being blind?

Any chance someone can take a picture with the general place please?

Also what antifreeze is best, in case I do a complete change? Oat, silicant?? It's all gobbledegook

Its underneath the inlet manifold but i think you have to remove the alternator to get to it ( dont hold me to that ) hopefully some one will be along with some more info.

Cheers for the 'help" but that doesn't help...that just tells me the ford part number and how much it is! What if I'm not buying from ford!

don't worry I'll consult the handbook to find out the spec, and find out if it's the one I have..or need to buy.

The anti freeze from Ford is pink (looks green whilst in the bottle).

I recall it costing around £30 if you buy it in 1 litre bottles, or £20 if they have a big bottle in already.
