Nice read for anyone interested in the FRP
http://www.topgear.com/car-news/top-gear-heroes/top-gears-bargain-heroes-ford-racing-puma#1

Nice article. Good to see SImon (Blue3) getting in on the article.

Makes me want to get an FRP...

 Great article. Although currently I don't think there's a single Racing Puma advertised for sale, people will read it, go looking on a whim with the enthusiasm to buy and be a bit disappointed.

Here's another recent(ish) review...

£750 per side to repair.....

I build cars as a living and we don't charge this! Where did he get that figure from?

Nice articles by people who understand the car. It's refreshing to learn a few new details about FRP that I didn't know. Wish I had one now!

Dead easy to get to £750 a side

Sill £180
Stiffener £50
Quarters repair panel £250

Plus welding prep and paint

Is the racing puma sill different to a standard one?

It's is that one, plus the stiffener and outer repair panel as they were over skinned

[post]359469[/post] Any pictures of the stiffener? No innuendos please!

Well, this is a picture of my FRP mid-repair showing the inner sill / strengthener which as you can see is very rotten!

This is the original sill / quarter that is over the top of the inner sill, and on the FRP had to be 'massaged' with a hammer to allow the FRP wide arch to go over the top

And then the final part over the top!

Hence part of the reason for cost as you have to unpick your way through three panels. Most who have had it done spend more than £750 a side.
