Evenin' all! :)

After getting quotes for full vehicle wraps all around the £1000-1200 I made enquiries with loads of different vinyl suppliers to find out about doing it myself.

Came accross a company called Hexis - http://www.hexis.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
They've been dead helpful and they've got a guy in the office who specialises in vehicle wrapping (Chris?), anyway, really knowledgable!

He's recoemmend that I go with the K7000/K71000 series cast vinyl that they supply, which from what I gather is the same as what the likes of Auto Pro Motorsport use for their wraps.

Anyway, does anybody have any pictures / ideas I can take inspiration from for wrapping the fat cat?

At present I'm wanting to do it similar to the WRC 2011 Fiesta but with Red patches instead of Blue.

Couple of quick colour edits on the Fiesta:

I've got access to a vinyl cutter / plotter so I can do the shapes for the sides easy enough, fitting shouldn't be "much" of a problem.
A friend of mine owns his own detailing business and he's done a few full wraps previously so I'll enlist his help on the tricky bits! :D

PS: lol yes this looks like I'm a company rep but I just wanted to share my experience and it'll probs be of use to others! :p

It's hard to imagine those decals one your Puma.. are you getting the Puma sprayed white or are you doing a full body wrap?

Yeah I've tinkering with a photo of my car & applied a similar style to mine but it's hard to turn the red body into white without it looking washed out, if we have any photoshop guru's on the board please feel free to post up! ;-)

Full body wrap though. :)

Please do not expect to be able to get hold of vinyl and simply slap it on your car, you will end up wasting it, there is a good reason why you are getting the prices that have been quoted.

fitting is not simple!

If a company does it for you and it fails you have come back, plus the finish they'll get is miles better than what you would achieve as they won't you water...which you probably will, not to mention the hours they'll put in prepping the vehicle

Ive worked in the Sign/print/vinyl business for many many years and I still get it wrong.

I've seen so many people try what you are attempting and fail big time, if you want it done that badly pay someone to do it

Buy cheap buy twice

Thanks for the input, on reflection my first post may have portrayed a laxidasical attitude towards it? Incorrect! :p

I'm not expecting it to be an easy job but considering I have no real time restraints (even if it takes me 2 weeks) then so be it.

As I said, I have a friend in the detailing business who has done several previously at his workshop so I'm going to get him onboard with it to lend a helping hand and pass on some advice - http://www.miglior.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Appreciate the word of warning though :)

i have been toying with the idea of getting the ken block fiesta style graphics.. i dont know if it will work though or where the best place to get it done would be

Managed to photoshop one of Andy's photos to get a white base, if we have any photoshop masters here please feel free to tinker!

PS: Been in touch with DMB about supplying the various coloured parts to apply on top of the white wrap!

i think if you have the blue then you will need to purchase a genuine frp interior to complement it but if you go red then it will not look amiss when you open the doors and boot to red shut lines.. the choice ultimately comes down to you but persoanlly id go with the red, fit some red and black bucket seats and a red touring car steering wheel and a flocked dash and your away with it :)

i voted unsure but after seeing the pics i vote yes to the red wrap, blue wrap doesnt seem to suit it as much :thumbs:

Just waiting to hear back on a job application next which... could be VERY interesting if I get it! :wink: :wink: :wink:
