Looking great Y, I'm definitley going to have to pay this bodyshop a visit :eek:k:

Awesome, looks absolutely wonderful, I remember when these were in the showrooms, they didn't look any better than yours!

I would be frightened to have that amount of work done on my car!

Having said that, I have seen it in the flesh and it does loook really good.

Definately, if I take the XR2i out and have to go to the supermarket or anything, then I will pick my parking space very carefully. The XR3i will be even worse, as you could be in it in a flash with a stanley knife.

looks great, top work on door skin, can't believe you had to go to that length there must be decent 2nd hand doors out there for cheaper/easier option, or are the cabby doors different?

Cabriolet doors are unique, IIRC based upon a 3dr door, but cot down retaining the A-pillar and with an extra section to provide a quarterlight.

Plus there aren't that many around anymore. If you visit scrapyards even late model (95-2000) Escorts are getting scarce!

It is impressive work though!

The doors also have some extra strengthening in them to account for the lack of frame so normal doors can't just get cut down

Fabricated door panels I never saw that done before, nice job. I hope they sealed / rustproofed the insides of the door when they did it.
