Broken HCV pipe - leaking coolant - help

Yes, carefully prised the plastic away from inside the hose. Got a pair of pliers in there, followed by a small metal hook to scrap out what was left. A couple of small pieces fell down the hose and I was unable to retrieve. Driven 100+ miles since then and no problems (touch wood).

Broken HCV pipe - leaking coolant - help

I've only lost about 300ml (that's what it took in water to take me back to the MAX line) so thinking I've been lucky as it's likely I've been driving around for at least five days with this hose hanging off. The other hose has been disconnected and I've joined the two ends together with a 2"...

Broken HCV pipe - leaking coolant - help

So, I went to top up my oil last night, noticed brown splashes all over the engine/bay. After taking a proper look this morning, I've found that the plastic connection for the right-hand hose coming out of the HCV has snapped off. I expect this happened the other day when I was forced to hit a...

Advice re previous MOT advisories... next test coming up

Passed the MOT today, those three previous advisories didn't show this time. Unfortunately, they did give me one new advisory (Offside front Suspension arm rubber bush deteriorated) which is going to be easy enough to sort out.

Passed MOT but Suspension Arm bush help required...

Thanks TastPiotr. I've read about others on here using the Flo-Flex bushes without any problems (decent enough quality), so I might go for those instead of purchasing the actual wishbones... It'll work out cheaper and I will be selling the car soon anyway. Can you (or anyone else) tell me if I...

Passed MOT but Suspension Arm bush help required...

After spending the afternoon in doubt, I was surprised to learn that my X-reg 1.7 has just passed its MOT... Thank God!!! Three previous advisories have disappeared to be replaced with just one: Offside front Suspension arm rubber bush deteriorated but not resulting in excessive movement...

Advice re previous MOT advisories... next test coming up

Hoping there's someone out there who may have some insider knowledge on this. My MOT is due end of this month, I have three advisories on my previous MOT - corroded rear brake pipes, excess movement at rear upper strut mounts and some rust to the chassis. If I leave these "repairs" for the...

power steering pipe 1.7 pump to rack

Just for ref (as I had to get one of these a few months ago), it's this bit, yes? Got mine from Ian, bugger to change - did it from above and below without removing any other parts. I treated mine against rust before putting it in (especially the metal parts that hang right at the front of...
