    Highest mileage Puma?

I'm the winner so far, or is it the loser :-( Will have to check later to confirm but think mine is about 143k and after the grand I have spent on her in the last year she better go another 16k at least. Part of that grand was on the cambelt change so that should help.

    Horrible Puma experience

I saw an AA test in the rain where they used tyres that are still legal by about 2mm (maybe more) compared to new tyres and the difference was night and day, I think it was them or maybe insurance companies that were petitioning for an increase regarding the legal minimum tread. I hate people...

    Noisy on full lock

I think this sounds the most likely: 'You've tugged the joint itself apart there mate. If it had pulled out of the box you would have a puddle of gear oil and the gaiter wouldn't need to stretch. The joints need more than a yank to get them out the gearbox!! Usually a pry bar and/or a hammer and...

problem with my alarm!! please help!!

Mine was the bonnet switch, I ended up taping it down in the end. Does your door ajar light on the dash come on at any time? Mine would often flash as I am driving along, I think I may actually need to tighten the latch to my bonnet if possible, that might be the route of my problem but taping...

    Noisy on full lock

Doh Shall have a look around the how to sections - when do you think it will fail and in what way?

    Noisy on full lock

Undid the ball joint and then tugged on the hub to create room to work. So the drive shaft would have been tugged out of the gear box, you could see the gear box side shaft gaiter stretch a little, and when putting the ball joint back together we had to turn the drive shaft to align the splines...

    Ford Mondeo Horn

I was scrapping my Mark 3 mondeo so thought I would take the horn off and swap prior to it leaving as I was sure it sounded like a more serious horn - got it swapped over and it sounded exactly the same as the puma one - weird - and a complete waste of time. Hope you have more luck as it sounds...

    Wet Weather

He is talking about lift off over steer - when you are accelerating the weight transfers to the rear and if you lift off the throttle the weight transfer moves forward so the rear goes lighter. Obviously if you are lifting off when cornering, the lighter the rear gets, the more chance there is...

    Wet Weather

Happened a couple of times to me - I like it - I used to have a 2.8v6 Pontiac Fiero so it's nice to get some more tail action going  The Mrs wasn't too impressed though :| , we had a tank slapper with a 180 finish in the Fiero on our first date, which I put down to ice on the road, she...

    Standard tyre pressures

Ahh, cheers. God knows where I read Rear 29 Front 34 - as they are way wrong.

    Noisy on full lock

After moving drive shaft slightly out of the box (not removing gaiter) to do some suspension work it seems to be noisy on full lock. I understand this might be the inner CV joint making the noise. Does anyone have any idea on how to trouble shoot / fix this? cheers

    Standard tyre pressures

Mentioning tyre pressure on the MPG thread has made me wonder what you guys advise for the best handling on a standard 1.7? Standard side-wall height as well. I read somewhere Rear 29 Front 34. In an effort to save some cash in fuel I have upped these recently to R32 F36 (not sure the saving...
