As above, check the fob is actually sending a signal, once car goes into learning mode you should be able to push any button and indicators will flash to say it's recognised the key, sounds like the signal is not getting sent from the remote fob

I get this on my Puma maybe once or twice a year, soon as you dip the clutch in any gear the revs don't drop back to idle properly and causes it to be quite jerky during gear changes - a quick idle control valve clean with carb cleaner and a 30 minute battery reset cures it everytime.

The breather pipe looks good, same as the fuel filler cap - my Puma is quite good for rust and doesn't have many crumbly bits. Has anyone had any problems with the Purge Valve / Charcoal Canister giving off fumes or not venting the fumes correctly? As that sounds more like my problem :/

Decided to play it safe I think, we're going to get an air gun to do the job , along with an e18 star socket, not worth destroying the camshaft because we don't have the right tools! Just means the Puma will be up on a jack for a few days longer :-(

Ok i think we'll try it tommorow by wedging it with a spanner on the hex, will it be ok to use a multi socket or shall I try and buy a e18 before trying to get it off?
