So i'm looking at getting a CD changer to put in the car, and before you say it, no i don't want a 6006 or the 6000 without the nob. Plus i have a few old changers taken out of cars knocking around.

But as i know next to nothing about audio systems, i just want to know if cd changers are a plug and play affair or if they have to be a specific type, or brand. I know so much to say that if it has a different plug on the back to the radio, it won't work, so i can eliminate any like that.

Cheers.

aftermarket changers can be made to fit but need an adaptor, they aren't plug and play.

the proper Ford ones go for buttons on eBay, make sure you get the cable and ideally the boot mount/cradle thingy as this has rubber damping mountings

I went aftermarket in my Cougar so migrated the changer to the Puma, dead simple to do.
