Hi all, I'm currently in the process of restoring a '99 17 vvt
The airbag light is on flashing 4 times indicting belt tensioners.
Prior to my buying the car, a replacement passenger seat was fitted. The connectors although fitted ok, differ to that of the driver's side as in it doesn't connect owing to different fitment.
I'm now led to believe this is due to differing pre tensioners.
It looks like both seats have spring type.
How do I know if mine should have spring or gas type pre-tensioners? Again I'm led to believe it's down to the solenoids being different.

Thanks in advance

Sounds like the pre-tensioner is from the wrong year car (there was an earlier/late version and they aren't compatible), it should have been swapped over from the old seat.

There are subtle differences to the connectors and it usually means someone modified it to connect it in (I recognised the same on the airbag modules which causes the same problem).
