Alarm not setting with key fob

I have just reprogrammed my 2 button key fob and it locks and unlocks but the lights don't flash to say the alarm is on? Any idea's?

Did your lights flash before you reprogrammed the key?

The lights only flash when the locks are double locked - i.e. you've pressed the lock button twice. There is also an audible whirring noise as the locks engage. Are you getting the locks make a noise twice?

When i turn the key the opposite way to when wanting locking it, then turn it the other way to lock it, the car locks and also the lights flash. But for the lights to flash i have to turn the key the opposite way before locking the car. i.e. turning the key anti-clockwise before turning it clockwise to lock it.

That sounds normal to me.

You turn it the other way to activate the deadlocking (and the alarm?)

Try doing that with the window down, and see if you can open the car from the inside once you've done it. You shouldn't be able to.
