Anybody here tried the Bluefin controller to remap your ECU ?
Thinking about giving it a try.
They claim 12bhp increase and all for about £240

I've had it for a few months now. I seriously doubt it gives 12bhp but not tested it yet. First and second gear seem like they give quite a bit more torque, and I'm pretty sure there's more low-down power though. I've been meaning to do some before-after testing on it. I recorded an 8.8s 0-60 time a while ago with bluefin/k&n mods only, that's a slight improvement over standard time I think.

As I said on the other Forum you've asked this on : I doubt it'll make much improvement on an otherwise standard car. If you've got more aggressive cams, a free flowing exhaust etc then it'll certainly help.

Pumaspeed will do you an FRP remap for about £100 if you ask them nicely and as you'll have a TAPE ECU in your Millennium, it'll only take 25 mins and not cause issue as that's the ECU FRPs have. Can have it altered to Super Unleaded as well at the same time if you want.

:eek:k:

That sounds excellent Dal.....cheers
Do you have any contact details for them mate or someone to speak to ?
Cheers all,
Paul

Tony owns the place but he's normally "Busy" Tell him "Darren had his Puma done for £100" if he moans about the price (which he will)

Me and the Mrs. both drive 1.7's for the winter so means I can do both cars.
Should be ok......I hope

hi there, i dont know if you know this but if your ECU is a different code to the sellers ie dive tape then you will need to send it off to be reset, also you can only put it on one car at a time, if you need to send it off i sent mine to puma build cost £60

cheers bud
Just have to use it on the Mrs. car and borrow that one......all the time

Sorry to be a numpty but what do you mean by "different code" and what needs to be changed if it is.......ECU or Dreamscience ?
How will I know if it is different and can I just plug it and try it .....sorry for all the questions ?
Thanks again for the help

There are various different ECU modules (the cars brain) depending on the age of the car. As the seller has a later Puma (a 2002 Thunder) it'll have a different version of the ECU to your one.

DUDE - 1st Generation Puma
MUFF - Up to summer '99
TAPE - Std fit on '99 Summer - 2000 Spring Puma
DIVE - Std fit on Spring 2000 onwards Puma

You will most likely have a TAPE ECU having a Millennium, the seller will have a DIVE version.

You need to find out if the code loaded into the Dreamscience you have bought is suitable for your car. It may need sending back to Dreamscience to get the right version.

Someone was seriously bored at work when Ford were designing ECU's to come up with those names!

Cheers Dal
I will ring them when the unit arrives to get the details off it.
