RIGHT,
with the sale of Frp165 last year before moving house, i managed to settle some debts and buy an 02 astra sri turbo with the change,

Now heres the dilema, with me losing my job in oct, and opening c.b.autos, i really needed a tow vehicle, so i bought a landy disco, which does the job and comfortable to drive about in, but has made my astra redundant so is currently up forsale,

My younger bro has offered me his imperial blue zetec s and cash for the astra,

Do i accept and fit a puma engine to it, bearing in mind we have a puma here with 4 branch miltek, and frp cams, so wouldnt be far of the frp spec. tart it up to advitise my company .
would be nice to be know as a fiesta / puma specialist :)

or do i decline..

I'd be more inclined to buy a Courier, respray it in Imperial Blue, fit the engine and Zetec-S front end/wheels to it and use it to advertise your business and as a parts hauler

I know you're missing having a puma of your own to tinker with. ;)

My thoughts?
The Astra obviously isn't doing it for you, or you wouldn't even be considering the idea.
An imp blue ZS with an FRP spec engine is about as close as you can get to an FRP without the costly body parts.
Tinker with the suspension ect, and it'll handle just as well.

You've got the ways, means and the know-how to do it properly, I'd say go for it. You know you'll kick yourself for a missed opportunity later on if you decline.

You'd just better make sure you don't spend too much time at the garage or your girlfriend will have your guts for garters! lol

Don't fart about with all that mechanics business mate.

Just buy another FRP - you know you want to.

;)

The astra is a cracking car, one of the best ive owned, i think its on level with the frp, but through different aspects of the car.

i figured as i dont use it much sell it and buy some diagnostic equipment for the workshop and again have some spare for another decent car,

lol as for the girlfriend shes used to me being at workshop till all hours working on my other project, offroad 90'.

i would like another smaller car,

I saw the ZS; it looked pretty good from the distance I was stood :)

I wouldn't specialise though, just be known as a great all round garage that way when/if people have used you and move on they will bring any car back!

I do like the ZS though so i'm biased :D

I very very nearly bought an imp blue zs just before getting my puma. Very good cars, and look great in that colour too.

Just don't buy an Audi.. Putting it in "Service Mode" - Shudder...

:hide:

Audi service mode !.

what a stupid idea that is,

Never want to have to do one of them again!!

Are you going to tell those expensively trained and vastly experienced suspension design engineers at Ford who developed the FRP that you can get the same result by 'tinkering', or should I?
