Ran fine all yesterday, parked up on my drive and left overnight.

Just went to get in 5 mins ago and doesn't start.

Car doesn't even turn over, when the key is turned it just goes "tick tick tick tick tick".

Starter motor gone?
Is it worth even attempting a jump start if it's not even turning over?

Got 15 mins to diagnose before I'll have to get the sodding bus!

Did the dials go mad when you tried to start it?

Flat battery would be my first thought. Leave any lights on?

Didn't notice anything unusual on the dials, got a battery charger on it now but I'll have to leave it till tomorrow if it doesn't start in 5 minutes! :(

PS: Headlights were not left on.

Left in on my neighbours fancy charger for an hour and still didn't start, got my grandads 30yr old charger on it for 10 seconds and started first time.

Verdict, they don't make 'em like they used to.

Off to buy a new battery now.

it only takes a single cell in a battery to fail and the whole thing packs in - I once drove a car, turned the engine off to let a passenger out and then the car would not start because the battery was knackered: I got a passing tractor to jump start me (don't ask), went straight to a garage and had a new battery fitted - sorted!

you can get a decent battery from Fords mate.... when my alternator died then I needed a new battery Ford was the cheapest :eek:k: just for info :)

Got the battery tested earlier to confirm it's shot... it is!
New battery tomorrow then.
