FRP Airbox mod - Ram end fitment

I have got a nice aluminium ram end to fit in the lower grill, problem is, the diameter is about 5mm too big to fit in the lower grill.

I have two options:

1. cut some of the bumper out to fit the ram (bit drastic me thinks)

2. try and fit it behind the grill, in which case I will need to drill into the ram and use a few cable ties.

Any other suggestions? Pics of any fitted?...
