what exhaust does a frp have standard? is it straight through from the cat? is the cat and manifold any different?

Yes,

It is a completely different system from engine back with a 4 branch manifold, wider bore main pipe and different CAT.

The Piper and miltek replacements are very similar to the original stock FRP exhaust (except they are in stainless)

er...welll...

other than the 421 manifold, a sports cat, sligghtly wider tubing (i think) and a different tailpipe...

the actual backbox is actually standard 1.7 puma (but has different pipes and tail so a real 1.7 backbox wont bolt on to an frp)

replacing with milltek etc will free up a few horses from the backbox

im guessing it will be a struggle to get a frp exhaust manifold? and on a frp is the cat part of the centre pipe instead of being apart of the manifold?

Not a problem getting a manifold there are new ones on ebay at the moment and they do come up second hand when people replace them with stainless versions.
