fuel starvation when quarter full

hi,
my wifes puma starts juddering and feels like fuel starvation when it gets to about quarter of a tank,
now she says it's starting to do it at almost half a tank,
gonna change fuel filter and remove and check pickup pipe assembly in tank,
is there anything else i should check while i'm on,

Hi neil, I had something similiar on a old astra few years ago. Turned out to be water in fuel tank that got picked up when tank got low. I would suggest changing fuel filter first (especially if you dont know when it was last changed). But also try to get fuel low & get as empty as you can to get any water out. I tried something called "dry fuel" additive from halfords that was supposed to get water out but didnt work on my astra.
