[post]348446[/post] Passed an mot in Feb with no advisoarys

That really doesn't mean anything.. Things fail or get advised when they're really actually quite bad, it's all down to the tester on the day.

Could be any of the following that are worn or a combination:

Lower arm bushes
Hub ball joints
Anti-roll bar bushes
Anti-roll bar drop links
Rubber suspension top mounts (front and/or rear)
Track rod ends
Steering Union
Rear beam bushes

I've probably forgotten something, but as you can see there's a reasonable number of possibilities.

[post]348465[/post] Or simply tyres?

My money would be ditchfinder tyres or incorrect pressures if it passed an MOT recently.

Shock-absorbers - test it by bouncing on the wings and then get under the wheel arches and look for leaks, if the wheels are even slightly out of balance, worn shockers will mean that the tyres will have constantly varying contact pressure on the road and this will cause tramlining - the tendency to follow ruts in the road - a lot of roads look as if there are no ruts, but they all have them.

I would go with tracking. It only needs to be slightly out to make the car feel odd and most garages will check the tracking for free.
