noticed today my heater fan works on 1,2 & 4
but when switched to 3 it turns off

Is this a new switch job,or will good old wd40 do the trick?

oh,and how does the panel with the switches come out?

any ideas?

If it's only 3 it's not working on, then I doubt if it's the balast resistor that's gone as then only 4 would work. I'd try WD40 1st.

If you take your radio out, you'll see two screws into the panel. I know those ones, not sure about the rest. My guess would be take the ashtray out and they'll be some there?

*hunts for photos*

You can see where the top two are in this egay link:

Cool,cheers Dal
I know how to remove the ashtray,
but how do i move the sliding bit which the ashtray & lighter sits in?

Just get it all the way out, and give it another sharp tug - lifting it slightly I think, or is it side to side?

Not that difficult though.

You just need to undo the two screws that have already been mentioned, then the panel lifts out

Yup - I felt underneath mine when I got to the car after work. Nothing under there

:D

Let us know how you get on.

I pulled mine out when chaning it to blue. its easy. there is a mechanical part that adjusts the heater flow postions you have to be a bit delicate with, thats all.
