hunting noise when slowing down

ive had this noise since ive had the car! doesnt affect the driving and car is still fab but think its time to get the issue sorted before it bugs me too much.
The hunting noise only happens when im slowing down i.e to a roundabout or to stop! once im stationary the hunting also stops!?
anyone know what could be causing this!?

never heard of a hunting noise
hunting is where the tickover drops and picks up constantly

its hard to explain the noise , its not a steady engine noise as when driving along,
going to sound like a right girl now trying to explain, going along is just vroooom constant,
slowing down to a roundabout or parking until stationary, is vroom vroom vroom vroom .....err yeah if you can make out what i mean!

could be a sensor keeping the revs up? anyone got anyone got any other ideas?

yeah but not a steady humming sort of constant on and off until ive stopped

I know what you mean but my brain is going ten to the dozen trying to remember when it happened to me and what the bloody hell it was...aargh!!

Nope. still can't think...lol.

If in doubt, clean your MAF is what I say. It's as good a start as any and takes half an hour to do....you never know, it may even fix your idling problem

If it is, it's your abs sensors as mentioned in the thread..

I'm thinking it's just reving up and down, up and down, up and down etc. Which could point to numerous sensors, connections or as I say the MAF.

i can try do a video tomorrow myself if it will help?! definately not the ticking though.

attempted the video but too much background noise to hear anything!
if it helps it only starts when clutch is down too

have you tried taking it out of gear, and releasing clutch and slowing down?

can rule out clutch then if you still got noise and like previous poster said might be abs
