Indicator flash when setting alarm

When I double lock/set the alarm the near side indicators flash twice, but the off side does nothing.

I tried opening and re-closing the doors, boot and bonnet, but that has not helped.

I know the alarm sets as I locked it with the window open, then popped the bonnet and the horn went off.
The indicators on the drivers side work during normal driving use.

Anyone got any ideas as to where I could start looking to sort this out? It's not a major problem, but I hate it when I know something isn't doing what is should.

That's an odd one :s unless a i would have thought it all ran off the same loom but i don't know for sure..

I tried the hazard lights last night, just as an after thought, but they work!

I am beginning to think my car is special, in its own little way. Or it hates me!

Now I have time, I'm now having a look on my TIS CD, see what I can find..... if anything!

Ok, so this may be a bit of a silly question.... Is the Anti-Theft system Passive, Active, or both?

My TIS CD refers to both systems, not sure which one I need to be looking at....

Are the alarm modules compatible across models?... e.g. 1.7 to 1.7, 1.4 to 1.4.

I should be able to get another module from a 1.7 of the same year, so would like to know if it will work ok on my Puma (also 1.7)...

You've proved the alarm works so why worry

not sure if its the same as the escort locking system, but there should be 2 small(ish)white relays(1 for each side) on the back of the fuse box, my guess is one is missing/broken

Thanks for the idea.

I swapped the central locking module over with another known good one. After that I had to re-program the key to the locking system. The indicators one one side still didn't work after that, so I swapped the modules back.

It is the standard, ford fitted one.

I have found two relays as suggested by alexwatling. One was not seated properly, so after pushing it back in, all indicators now work when I double lock the car!

I found it unusual that I had to unscrew and remove the whole fuse box section to access the relays which I didn't even know where on the back of it. I have learnt something new today!
