Key keeps needing to be reprogrammed.

Over the past week or so my key has needed reprogramming twice, does anyone know what causes this to happen?

The battery in the fob appears ok, once reprogrammed it works fine again, until the next time it 'forgets'.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Check the battery output with a multimeter and also the contacts the the battery?

How can you tell? Have you measured the output voltage by multimeter? I would suspect it is on its way out, but still working.

I'm assuming, as the battery was replaced just before Xmas.

The battery prior to that was installed in May '14.
